HAPPY OLD YEAR!

Before you rush into your resolutions and creating your high intentions for 2012…take a moment to a good look back and celebrate 2011.

Why:
1. We train ourselves how to be happy.
2. The only person you are really trying to impress is YOU!

When we take the time out to recognize, marinate in and seed our success – we practice santosha or contentment. In the yoga sutras, this is considered one of the 10 commandments. The yogis understood that true happiness comes from a deep, abiding sense of inner satisfaction and contentment. Practice being content with who you are right here, right now.

We literally strengthen and boost our ability to experience pleasure and happiness in our lives when we practice feeling content. This contentment and satisfaction will spread out to all the other areas of our lives. You will learn to become more happy. Practice makes perfect. See yourself through the eyes of a proud parent.

Praise your successes in 2011. Whether you lost a few pounds, overcame personal hardships and landed on your feet, paid off some credit card debt, finally launched your website or blog, made amends with someone or finished a big project at work – honor yourself. Big and small, inner and outer accomplishments – celebrate them! Take yourself out to dinner. Share what you’re most proud of in 2011 with someone else. Write it down in your journal……whatever feels right for you. Just do it.

When I think of all the things I need to change in my life in order to further succeed, or fulfill, you remind me to celebrate and marinate in all that I’ve done thus far…I thank you. I thank you for the reminders and the consistent inspiration.

Happy New Year to you Ashley.
