Beyond simply slowing down the breath, it can be really beneficial to do practices where you hold your breath for a few beats at the END of your exhale. This may feel tricky because when you exhale you have no breath left in your system, and it can actually create a little panic or anxiety.
A word of warning: Don’t just start holding your breath at the end of your exhale, and expect miracles. Without the proper technique, it will probably backfire!
